A San Antonio woman shot and killed her ex-boyfriend after he broke into her home.
According to officers in the 10300 block of Lynx Crossing, the woman had recently broken up with the man.
The woman told officers she hid in the bathroom when he broke into her home and shot him with a shotgun when he entered.
The man was shot in the abdomen and reportedly had no pulse when officers arrived, he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Taking up a defensive position in the bathroom is a smart #tactical choice, forcing the intruder to enter through one doorway -- which is often called the 'fatal funnel'. The legendary power of the shotgun proved to be decisive here with an apparent one-shot stop to the attacker.
While we don't have much information about this actual case, the reason it's included in the blog is because we will be coming back to real-life examples such as this of women defending themselves with #firearms. There will be lots of conversation regarding which firearms are best for women to use to defend themselves. In regards to shotguns, there will be a lot of passionate comments as to the #shotgun as an example of either being the absolute best firearm a woman can have -- or the absolute worst.
