The Most Dangerous Time for Women

Updated: Mar 1, 2022

It's the first semester of the first year in college. More specifically, it's more like the time from when school starts through the Thanksgiving break. This is statistically the most likely time for women to be sexually assaulted on campus. It's claimed that upwards of 50% of all sexual assaults recorded for the year happen during this timeframe.

And it's not just in the U.S. In Australia, Orientation Week is the start of campus life at university which typically runs during the last week of February and the first couple of days in March.

This dangerous time for women is called the Red Zone in both the U.S. and Australia. The Women's Self-Defense Community tackles this issue to provide you and your student the straight scoop on why this time can be the most dangerous for women and things you can do about it.
